Rae Bareli: A special court set up to hear Babri Masjid demolition case has issued summonses to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Union Human Resource Development Minister Manohar Joshi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Ashok Singhal and five others to appear before it on April 16.

The five are Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Vinay Katiyar, VHP vice president Vishnu Hari Dalmia, senior VHP leader Giriraj Kishore, Madhya Pradesh BJP president Uma Bharti and saffron party leader Sadhvi Ritambra.

The summonses were issued on March 31.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has shifted all papers related to the case to the special court in Rae Bareli following Supreme Court's intervention.
