Hyderabad: Four policemen, including a sub-inspector (SI), were allegedly kidnapped by the naxalites of banned People's War Group (PWG) in Nallamalla forest in Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh on April 2.

Police said the sub-inspector, Anjaneyulu, was kidnapped along with two constables and a home guard when they were returning in a vehicle after duty in a remote area in the district.

The naxals stopped the vehicle in the forest area and took them away forcibly, police said.

The police personnel had gone to Katamraj to maintain security on the occasion of Ugadi, Telugu New Year, police said.
