Siliguri: North Bengal University (NBU) has decided not to continue co-ordination and collaboration with American universities in protest against the American invasion of Iraq.

NBU Vice Chancellor Prof P K Saha told reporters on April 2 that he had already conveyed this decision to the director of the American Centre in Kolkata Rex Moser recently.

The Vice Chancellor said he has also decided not to continue with his membership of the American Centre library "at this stage" on the same ground.

The NBU has called a joint convention on April 10 to condemn the American war against Iraq. Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPM) leader Sitaram Yechuri would speak on the occasion, he added.
