New Delhi: David R Drobis, chairman of Ketchum PR and a legendary PR (public
relations) guru, will be in India next week, according to a press release.
Named amongst the 10 most influential people in public relations in the 20th century
by 'PRWeek' magazine, David is credited for having structured the growth of one of
the largest public relations companies in the world. He strategised the rise of
Ketchum from a small, specialised firm to among the top-10 agencies in the world.
Ketchum was one of the first agencies to recognise the need of a global servicing
network for international companies.
Accordingly, it identified leading PR firms in different countries and entered into
affiliation agreements with them. Under David's leadership, Ketchum expanded from
North America to Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America and established the vertical
industry categories and key communications disciplines into six global practices
that are in the top-three bracket in their specialised segment.
Ketchum was one of the first international PR agencies to enter India, through an
exclusive affiliation agreement with MelCole in 1989, the release said.
