Patna: The CBI on April 5 submitted charge-sheet against former Bihar Chief
Ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Dr Jagannath Mishra after Governor V C Pande gave
his nod to the agency's proposal for prosecuting them in yet another case relating
to the multi-crore fodder scam.
The charge-sheet was submitted to the court of designated CBI Judge S K Mishra. The
processes would be issued after the court takes cognisance of the charge-sheet on
April 7.
Raj Bhavan sources had this morning confirmed that the Governor had accorded
sanction to CBI for prosecution of Yadav and Mishra after consulting legal experts
recently.
CBI had submitted ids proposal seeking the gubernatorial nod to file the charge-
sheet against them long back.
Former state Animal Husbandry ministers C P Verma, Vidyasagar Nishad, RJD (Rashtriya
Janata Dal) MLA R K Rana and Independent legislator Jagdish Sharma, besides several
AHD (Animal Husbandry Department) officials were also named accused in the case.
The case relates to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 50 lakh from Bhagalpur and
Banka treasuries by AHD officials through forged and fake bills between 1994-1996
when Yadav was the chief minister.
The RJD leader and Mishra are on bail in all the cases against them
