Baghdad: Massive explosions rocked Central Baghdad early April 6 as coalition forces
continued its pounding of the Iraqi capital in its bid to capture the city.
The unusually powerful blasts that began at 01:30 hours (IST) were still
reverberating half an hour later, reports said.
On the 17th day of hostilities on April 5, US troops rode tanks into Baghdad in a
bid to show the Iraqi people that Saddam no longer wielded absolute power, with the
Central Command claiming US forces could enter the capital at will.
