Dhar: A day after the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) ordered to open the
Bhojshala for Hindus every Tuesdays, the gates of the monument were opened at 9.00
am (IST) for Hindus to go in and offer prayers.
ASI had on April 7 sent orders to Madhya Pradesh government to keep the Bhojshala
open for Hindus for the whole day on Tuesdays.
Although, as per the orders the Bhojshala was to be opened from 11.00 am, it has
been opened two hours before schedule, official sources said.
Around 200 to 250 people, some of whom were beating drums, have entered the
Bhojshala. However, total peace is prevailing in and around the premises and there
are no signs of any tension anywhere, the sources said.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the local Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) Vishal Goyal has
announced that the day would be observed as Diwali in the city, with lamps being
lighted in every house in the evening.
