New Delhi: Rower Lakshman Singh has been slapped with a life ban for testing
positive for banned substance during the Hyderabad National Games last year.
Lakshman Singh, who had won a bronze medal in the singles scull event during the
Games, has returned positive in both 'A' and 'B' samples, prompting the Rowing
Federation of India to take disciplinary action against him.
This was announced by the secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association,
Randhir Singh at a press conference on Tuesday. Randhir Singh said 22 of the 464
samples tested had turned out to be positive.
