Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed asserted that the
effort from across the border to derail the peace process in the state would be
frustrated and normalcy would be restored.
"Our enemy finds it difficult to digest the peace initiatives taken by the
government as these have been yielding positive results," Sayeed said at a function
to release the commemorative volume in memory of Mulak Raj Saraf on his 109th birth
anniversary on April 7 evening.
He said those living across the border have been desperately trying to derail the
peace process, but his government will frustrate these designs of the enemy so that
wishes of the people to have peace in the state prevail.
"We are committed no only to restore peace and tranquillity in the state, but also
to change prevailing system," he said adding the coalition government is working
with a mission to ameliorate lot of the people.
Holding politicians responsible for the Kashmir situation, Sayeed said "our
political system needs to be cleansed.
"Unless our political system is cleaned up, nothing can be achieved in other fields
as it is the politicians who controls the affairs of the government," he added.
Making a strong plea for women empowerment, the Chief Minister said they have to be
made equal partners in our march for socio-economic development and strongly
favoured the women's reservation Bill.
He said J and K government has set up two women police stations with the hope that
they would prove better than their men counterparts.
