New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 9 accused the Congress of becoming
a party of "forgery" and sought action against Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi
for refusing to cooperate with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe
the documents allegedly used by Intelligence Bureau (IB) to defame Opposition
politicians.
"It seems Congress has become a farzivadi party and has opened a factory for forged
documents. As it appears that Congress is losing Chhatisgarh, the Chief Minister is
refusing to cooperate with CBI and this itself is a crime," said party spokesman V K
Malhotra.
He sought to know how Jogi could ask for an investigation by a Parliamentary
Committee when he was not a member of either House of Parliament.
Malhotra accused Congress of taking cover under forged documents and cited the St
Kitts case in which forged documents were used to take action against former Prime
Minister V P Singh.
Accusing Jogi of forging IB documents, he said Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee
had written to the Chief Minister that the documents referred by him were not
authentic.
