Ahmedabad: In a combined operation, Gujarat and Mumbai police teams arrested one of the prime accused in the Godhra train carnage in Mumbai, police sources said on April 9.

The sources identified the person as Sayed Abdul Sattar alias Kala and said preliminary interrogation revealed that he had harboured many of those absconding in the case.

Gujarat director general of police (Crime and Railways), A K Bhargava said a team was in Mumbai to probe further in the case but official confirmation of the arrest was still awaited.

At least 50 persons are still wanted in the case while the police has booked 121 persons including main conspirator and a religious leader Maulvi Hussain Umarji under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).
