Ahmedabad: In a combined operation, Gujarat and Mumbai police teams arrested one of
the prime accused in the Godhra train carnage in Mumbai, police sources said on
April 9.
The sources identified the person as Sayed Abdul Sattar alias Kala and said
preliminary interrogation revealed that he had harboured many of those absconding in
the case.
Gujarat director general of police (Crime and Railways), A K Bhargava said a team
was in Mumbai to probe further in the case but official confirmation of the arrest
was still awaited.
At least 50 persons are still wanted in the case while the police has booked 121
persons including main conspirator and a religious leader Maulvi Hussain Umarji
under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).
