Moscow: India and Russia on April 10 called for early restoration of the UN role in
post-war Iraq and agreed to consolidate their interaction within the framework of
the world body.
Russia and India "underscored the need for the restoration of the leading role of
the United Nations" in the post-war Iraq, Russian Foreign Ministry said at the end
of Indian Ambassador Krishnan Raghunath's meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri
Fedotov.
