New Delhi: Prices of petroleum products are likely to come down in the next few days
in view of a steep fall in international crude prices, Petroleum Minister Ram Naik
told Lok Sabha on April 10.
As the war in Iraq was nearing a close, the international oil prices, which stood at
$ 32.56 a barrel, have on April 9 come down to $ 24.14, Naik said during Question
Hour.
"Keeping this in view, oil companies will take a decision on April 15 keeping
consumers' interest in mind…but by how much (the prices will come down) that will be
decided by the companies themselves," he said.
