Islamabad: Pakistan on April 10 charged External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and
the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with conducting a campaign of "relentless sabre-
rattling" and "war-mongering" against it.
Reacting to Sinha's statement in Rajya Sabha as well as the resolution passed by BJP
executive against Pakistan, Foreign Office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said the
constant "war-mongering" of the Indian leadership has "further darkened the
extremely hostile environment created by irresponsible statements".
He alleged that the BJP resolution was aimed at inciting the Government of India
against Pakistan.
"Using such jingoistic idiom is reprehensible and will only contribute to
heightening tension in the region," he said in a statement.
"If Indian leadership is serious, it should listen to the world opinion and adopt
civilised ways of conflict resolution and peaceful settlement of all disputes with
Pakistan, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir," Khan said.
