Jammu: The reported recovery of a blood stained head of a calf on April 11 morning triggered demonstrations prompting police to cane-charge the protesters to bring the situation under control.

Agitated youths blocked roads in Eastern part of the city protesting the incident, which, they said, was meant to spark communal violence on Ram Navami day.

Police, who are monitoring the situation however, denied that calf's head was found in new plot area.
