Kozhikode: "Is there any combination between Kisan and Kingfisher?", was the
reaction of Janata Dal (United) Vice President C Narasimhappa, to the resignation of
Rajya Sabha member Vijay Mallya.
Stating that Mallya was never considered "seriously", and his political activities
had already boomeranged, Narasimhappa told reporters on April 13 that his party was
a farmers' party and Mallya was a liquor baron.
Mallya always wanted to call the shots in any party he belonged to, he said, adding
earlier Mallya had once declared himself as the working President of the JD (U)
while the party had not appointed him to the post.
"Now, after floating the All-India Janata Dal by joining hands with S R Bommai, he
wants to declare himself as a leader of some party", Narasimhappa said.
