Mufti assures Kashmiri Pandits of their security
Sunday, April 13 2003 20:57 Hrs (IST)

Mattan (Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on April 13 assured Kashmiri Pandits that his government would take every measure for their security and protection and asked them not to think of migration.

The assurance came during an interaction Sayeed had with the priests of the famous Martand temple and the local Hindu population in this temple township of South Kashmir.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by Minister for Urban Development Ghulam Hassan Mir and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Abdur Rehman Vederi, visited the shrine to know the problems of the minority community and assured redress of their grievances.

He complimented the Kashmiri Pandits who have stayed in the town despite massacre of 24 Hindus at Nadimarg recently and said his government would take every measure for their security.
