Jabalpur: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on April 13 said her party has "excellent"
prospects in the ensuing Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and
Chhattisgarh.
On the issue of Centre's "soft" stand towards US on the Iraq conflict, Sonia,
talking to reporters after arriving from Kanha-Kisli alleged that the National
Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is suffering due to its "past prejudices"
and "that is the sole reason behind not taking any strong stand against the US
President George Bush".
To a query about senior Congress leader V C Shukla joining the Nationalist Congress
Party (NCP), Sonia quipped that the question should be addressed to him only.
Earlier, upon her arrival at the airport, Sonia was given rousing reception by
Congress workers. Later, she left for New Delhi along with party general secretaries
Kamal Nath and Ambika Soni.
