Jamshedpur: The External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha, on April 14 said that the
government had chalked out a strategy to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir at a
meeting held soon after the killing of Pandits attended by the Deputy Prime
Minister, Governor and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and himself.
He said that the action initiated by the Centre to combat cross-border terrorism was
in self-defence against the proxy-war launched from across the border.
Earlier, addressing a function marking the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar at
Sitaramdera, he said that any attempt to suppress India would be foiled.
In the function, organised by the East Singhbhum district administration, the
minister handed over employment letters to families of 34 persons who had lost their
lives in a hooch tragedy 8 years ago at a local locality.
