Monday, April 14 2003 14:22 Hrs (IST)

Kathmandu: The Nepalese government's Talks Co-ordinator and Minister for Construction and Physical Planning Narayansing Pun on April 14 held goodwill talks with the Maoists in Kathmandu.

During the talks, the Maoists held discussions about ways to implement the 22-point code of conduct, Pun said.

Maoists Talks Co-ordinator Baburam Bhattarai and four other members of the team, Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal), Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Dev Gurung and Matrika Yadav, held the initial talks with Pun.

After the government and the Maoists agreed to the ceasefire in January, a 22-point code of conduct was announced to facilitate talks.
