Gangtok: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on April 14 said that it would have
been better if there was no war in Iraq and called for the country's quick
reconstruction.
However now that it had ended, India could only look forward to quick reconstruction
work in Iraq with whom it had always had good relations.

''We hope our good relations with Iraq to continue even after installation of an
alternative regime in that country,'' he said.
The Prime Minister, however, said that India was strongly in favour of fostering and
maintaining good relations with all its neighbours including Pakistan and
China.
He said border talks with China had been going on. "There have been several meetings
so far and yet another will take place shortly with the Chinese authorities," he
said.
Vajpayee said India viewed with concern the growing ULFA (United Liberation Front of
Assam) network in Bhutan, which could create trouble for both the
countries.
"We want Bhutan to be free of terrorism. ULFA has set up camps there which can be
dangerous for both the countries," he said, adding talks were on between the two
neighbouring countries to ensure the ULFA camps in Bhutan were rooted out.
