Jammu: Three top Pakistani militants belonging to the Harkat-ul-Jehadi-Islami outfit were among five ultras gunned down by security forces in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, official sources said on April 15.

In a gunbattle between troops and militants during a search-and-cordon operation in Hari Bhudda forest belt in Poonch late April 14 night, the three Pakistani militants were killed, the sources said, adding three AK rifles and five UBGL grenades were among arms and ammunition seized from the spot.

In another encounter near a forward defence location in Sabzian, a militant was shot dead and an AK rifle, two pistols, three magazines and an equal number of grenades were recovered from his possession.

The security forces also recovered the body of a militant from Mendhar area of Poonch along with some arms and ammunition on April 14 night, the sources said.
