Wednesday, April 16 2003 14:25 Hrs (IST)

Hyderabad: Two naxalites of banned People's War Group (PWG) were killed and a constable injured in an exchange of fire near Tangadpalli village in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh on April 16, police said.

On a tip-off that some naxals responsible for attacking Coca Cola and Pepsi godowns last week were hiding in a house, a team of district special police raided the place, police said.

The ultras immediately opened fire, which was retaliated by police. In the exchange of fire two naxals died on the spot while a police constable received bullet injuries, police said.

A carbine, a tapancha and two kitbags were also recovered from the scene, police added.
