Mumbai: On certain conditions, a Mumbai special court on April 16 exempted actor
Sanjay Dutt and 86 other accused from appearance in 1993 bomb blast case till April
28.
Exempting the accused, designated judge P D Kode warned them not to leave the city
limits without permission during the period. They were also told not to establish
contacts with absconding accused in the case and ensure that they were represented
by their lawyers in the court.
The court will decide on April 17 Sanjay Dutt’s plea seeking permission to visit
Hyderabad for a film shooting .The actor is facing trial since his arrest in April
1993. Ever since being granted bail in October 1995 by the Supreme Court, he has
been coming to the court regularly.
Sanjay is facing the charge of possessing an AK-56 rifle in a notified area under
TADA-P (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities-prevention-Act) and destroying evidence
(disposing of the rifle). The actor has already denied the charges.
