Srinagar: One person was killed and six people including four school children were injured on April 17 as Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling at Kargil in the frontier region, official sources said.

Shells also landed in the vicinity of a micro-hydel project in the area, sources said.

Indian troops guarding the border fired in retaliation but the casualties suffered by Pakistani troops in the action was not immediately known, the sources added.
