Cong will win polls in MP, Delhi: Govindacharya
Friday, April 18 2003 20:24 Hrs (IST)

Jabalpur: A day after virtually calling it quits from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), party ideologue K N Govindacharya on April 18 heaped praise for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's leadership and said Congress would be voted back to power in the state, as well as in Delhi.

Govindacharya said former Union Minister V C Shukla quitting Congress would have little adverse effect on the ruling in Chattisgarh.

About replacement of Janakrishna Murthy by M Venkaiah Naidu as national BJP chief, Govindacharya said, "Naidu is more dynamic and energetic."

Referring to Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2004, he said it is too early to gauge the situation and comment on them.

About Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati filing cases against Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, he said, "Blindly supporting her actions would prove harmful for BJP in the long run in Uttar Pradesh as well as in Central politics."
