Srinagar: Infosys chief Narayana Murthy was on April 19 conferred Honorary Doctorate of Kashmir University in recognition for his services to the Information Technology industry.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Girish Chander Saxena, who is also the Chancellor of the University, presented the Doctorate to Murthy at a function in the presence of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
