Interconnect charge regime from May 1: TRAI

New Delhi: Telecom operators on April 19 agreed to implement the new interconnect usage charge regime as scheduled from May 1.

After discussions with all operators, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman Pradip Baijal indicated that they have agreed to implement the regime.

"We have talked to all operators and discussed various technical issues related to the implementation of the regime and have decided on one option which has been accepted by all telecom stakeholders," Baijal told reporters.
