Mumbai: Yet another suspected Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) case has been
reported and the person, who came from Bangkok on April 19 night, has been admitted
at Kasturba Gandhi Hospital in Central Mumbai, according to the airport authorities.
The person was suffering from hypertension and showed high blood pressure and slight
breathlessness, the hospital sources said.
"However, he does not show any symptoms of SARS, including high fever," they
clarified.
He has been admitted to the hospital just because he spent long hours in Hong Kong
and boarded the flight from Bangkok to India, the doctor said.
The person is very comfortable and is fine, the doctor said adding, he wants to go
home but the hospital authorities are waiting for the tests' confirmation for any
suspected SARS.
The sources explained that the person was under great tension and had developed
breathlessness because of his long hours of stay in Hong Kong.
So far, 12 suspected cases of SARS have been reported from different parts of the
country, of which 10 cases have turned out to be negative.
