Srinagar: Five persons, including a militant and a nomadic tribe member, were killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir where security personnel arrested seven ultras since April 20.

Militants abducted, tortured and hanged to death a Gujjar tribe member in of Rajouri district, while another person, who militants suspected was a police informer, was abducted and shot dead in Kupwara district.

A personal security officer of a National Conference leader was shot dead by militants in Doda district while a militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Poonch district.

Meanwhile, one forest guard was kidnapped and killed by militants in Doda district. Security personnel arrested seven militants wanted in several cases of grenade attacks in two operations in Srinagar on April 20.

Hizbul Mujahideen deputy district commander Tanveer Ahmad alias Umar and four other militants were also arrested.
