Monday, April 21 2003 09:51 Hrs (IST)

Ahmedabad: Five alleged killers of former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya were brought to Ahmedabad from New Delhi by the CBI sleuths by an Indian Airlines flight amidst tight security.

They would be produced before a magistrate for remand around 10.00 am, the crime branch sources said.

The five ISI trained accused, including Asghar Ali, who has been identified by CBI as the main person who pulled the trigger on Pandya outside law garden where he had gone for a routine morning walk on March 26, were arrested in Hyderabad on April 17 and 18 by CBI and Andhra Pradesh police and are on transit remand.

The five alleged killers, accompanied by the CBI investigating team, were whisked away to an unknown destination straight from the Sardar Patel Airport, the sources added.
