Ten days police remand for Pandya's killers

Ahmedabad: The five alleged killers of former Gujarat Home and Revenue Minister Haren Pandya were on April 21 remanded to CBI custody for 10 days.

The five, including the main ISI trained shooter Ashgar Ali, were produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM), Meghaninagar Ranek Shah at 10.30 am amidst tight police security around the CMM court.

After hearing the arguments from CBI counsel N S Parmar, the court remanded them to 10 days CBI custody till April 30.

Besides Ashgar Ali, whom the CBI identified as the main shooter, others were Abdul Bakr, Abdul Rauf, Mohammad Iftekar and Mohammed Shafi.

The former Home Minister and a senior BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader Pandya was shot dead on March 26 outside Law Garden where he had gone for a walk.
