New Delhi: Buoyed by the granting of bail to its leader Praveen Togadia, Vishwa
Hindu Parishad (VHP) on April 21 declared it would continue with its trident
distribution programme and vowed to oust the "anti-Hindu" Ashok Gehlot government in
Rajasthan.
"We compliment the court. We have heard about some rider in the release, we will
study it. Our agitation will intensify in Rajasthan. We will throw out the anti-
Hindu government," VHP vice president Acharya Giriraj Kishore told reporters.
Accusing Rajasthan government of frequently changing its stance on the arrest of
Togadia, he alleged that Gehlot acted against the VHP leader following directions
from party president Sonia Gandhi who has "personal dislike" for
Togadia.
He said Gehlot, by his action against Togadia, has "forced" the VHP to work for
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.
Kishore parried questions whether the VHP would intensify its programmes like
trident distribution in other states ruled by the Congress like Madhya Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh and Delhi where elections are due later this year.
