Patna: Over one-lakh truckers from Bihar joined the nation-wide strike from midnight
on April 22 to demand stable fuel prices and fewer levies.
The trucks went off the roads in deference to Bihar Motor Transport Federation's
(BMTF) April 17 decision to support the strike called by the All India Motor
Transporters Congress, the BMTF president Jagannath Singh said.
Transportation of essential commodities like milk, gas cylinder and medicine within
the state has been exempted from the strike, he said.
