Three militants killed, one arrested in J&K

Srinagar: Three militants were killed and another was arrested by security forces in separate operations in Kashmir valley, police sources said.

Two unidentified militants were killed by the troops of Rashtriya Rifles in an encounter at Wanigam village in Pattan area of Baramulla district on April 22 night, the sources said.

They said two AK assault rifles, six magazines, 237 rounds and three hand grenades were recovered from the deceased militants.

In another encounter, troops killed a Hizbul Mujahideen militant Farooq Ahmad Dar at Takia Maqsood village in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district early on April 23.

An AK assault rifle, an under-barrel grenade launcher and some ammunition were recovered from the slain militant, the sources said.

A militant Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat was arrested by police from Pahlhallan area of Baramulla district on April 22 night, they said, adding six grenades, 10 detonators and some explosive material were recovered from him.
