SARS case suspected in Bangalore

Bangalore: In a suspected case of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), a 24-year old man from Canada was admitted to Manipal Hospital and is kept under observation, a senior hospital official said.

The blood samples of the person, an Indian national, has been sent for test and the virus report is expected on April 24, hospital director A Malathi said on April 23 night.

She said he had high temperature and was brought to the casualty department on April 22. "As of now, he is okay."

The airport authorities had been informed about the case, she said.
