Srinagar: Senior separatist leader Shabir Shah on April 23 refused to participate in talks with the Centre's new interlocutor N N Vohra as it
considered his mission "non-serious" even as he asserted that dialogue was the only way to resolve the long-pending Kashmir issue.
"Vohra's nomination as the Centre's point man and his way of holding talks is non-serious. We have refused to meet Vohra as the move is
nothing as compared to previous attempts," the spokesman of Shah's Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) said after
a joint annual meeting of the working committee and general council of the party.
He, however, said his party will not only continue to make efforts for everlasting solution of Kashmir issue but will respond positively to any
serious move as initiated by the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Kashmir.
Addressing the meeting Shah said he hoped that PM would take necessary steps to resolve the issue for everlasting peace in South Asia
and without any further bloodshed.
It was their conviction in dialogue that made the party meet all government interlocutors from K C Pant to Ram Jethmalani, but in the
absence of any seriousness on part of the government the moves failed.
