Three killed, 32 injured in J and K court blast

Srinagar: Three persons including two women were killed and 32 injured in a powerful explosion triggered by suspected militants inside a local court at Pattan on Srinagar-Baramulla highway, 27 kms from Srinagar on April 25 afternoon, police sources said.

The blast caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) took place in the court of judicial magistrate around 12.20 pm (IST), killing a woman identified as Nasreena, a resident of Seeri Pattan instantly, the sources said.

Thirty-four people were injured in the explosion and two of them, Meema and Ghulam Rasool Bhat succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to hospital, they said.

The sources said it could not be immediately ascertained whether any judicial official was among the injured.

A hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the blast, the sources said.
