Lord Swraj Paul discusses Indo-British ties with Advani
Friday, April 25 2003 16:43 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: British NRI businessman Swraj Paul on April 24 met Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani and discussed with him issues concerning Indo-British relations, especially in trade and business.

Coming out of the 30-minute meeting, Paul said that ways and means to double the bilateral trade was one of the issues, which came up for discussion.

Indo-British trade has touched a five billion Pound target and efforts were being made to double it over the next five years by the Indo- British Business Forum, he said.

Lord Paul, Britain's business ambassador said Indo-British bilateral relations were "as good as they have been before" and there was a need to further strengthen it.

He replied in the negative when asked whether the issue of reconstruction in war-ravaged Iraq came up for discussion at his meeting with Advani.
