Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh had a narrow escape in a blast in Baramulla district of North
Kashmir on April 26, official sources said.
Eleven civilians, including two children, were injured in the blast at Azad Gunj in the district town, where the minister along with Jammu
and Kashmir Bank managing director Mohammad Yousuf Khan and district officials had gone to inspect the renovation work of a park, the
sources said.
Khan and the officers escaped unhurt, they added.
The minister had hardly covered a distance of 10 feet from the site when the blast occurred, the sources said.
Police and security forces rushed to the scene and a cordon was laid around the area, they said.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.
