Pandya case: Ten alleged ISI agents remanded

Ahmedabad: Five of the alleged Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agents arrested in connection with the Haren Pandya murder case have
been remanded to judicial custody, while five others were remanded to five days crime branch custody by metropolitan court.
The "ISI agents" allegedly involved in Pandya's assassination and serial blast in city buses, Mohammed Pervez Abdul Kayum Sheikh,
Mohammed Yunus Abdul Rahim Sareshwala, Mohammed Riyaz alias Goru Abdul Wahid Sareshwala, Rehan Abdul Mujib Punthawala and
Munawar Beigh Alias Captain Yakub Miyan Mirza were sent to judicial custody.
They were arrested by crime branch on April 3.
The court also remanded Afzal Khan alias Babu Murtuza Khan, Idris Khan Yakub Khan Pathan, Mohammad Zahir Mohammad Iqbal
Sheikh, Mohammad Tareeq alias Tareeq Farid Bhai Sheikh and Mehamood Rajasha Sayed to five days crime branch custody.
Afzal Khan and Pathan were nabbed on April 15 and the remaining three were arrested on April 18.
Gujarat government has invoked Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) against all the 10 for their alleged involvement in assassination of
Haren Pandya, the serial blasts in four city buses and attack on local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Jagdish Tiwari.
