2 Chennai-Singapore Air India flights cancelled
Monday, April 28 2003 10:33 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: Air India's flight on Singapore-Chennai-Mumbai sector (AI473) was suddenly cancelled on April 28 morning, airport sources said.

The flight was to arrive in Chennai at 08:45 hours (IST), but AI officials announced the cancellation of the flight at 07:00 hours.

AI also announced the cancellation of their Chennai-Singapore bound flight, scheduled to leave Chennai at 09:45 hours.

Due to the sudden announcement, people who had come to receive their relatives and friends by AI 473 were put to some inconvenience.

Sources said the flights were cancelled due to pilots adhering to the directives of the Indian Pilots' Guild (IPG), which had not withdrawn its directives on flights operations to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-affected countries.
