New Delhi: Government on April 28 said there does not appear to be any international conspiracy behind the recent harassment of Indian
IT professionals in various countries but added that it appeared to be the result of global economic recession.
"At the moment, there does not appear to be any deep-rooted international conspiracy to discourage Indian IT professionals and
entrepreneurs from harnessing the global market."
"However, the kind of incidents that have taken place in Malaysia, Indonesia, Netherlands and England appear to be linked to economic
recession the world over," Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Rajiv Pratap Rudy told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
He said government has been actively taking up the liberalisation of Visa and other procedures for visits of professionals for supply of
services in World Trade Organisation (WTO) member-countries during the WTO negotiations on trade in services, currently underway
under the General Agreement on Trade in Services.
