Jammu: In a bid to terrorise people living near the line of control (LoC), Pakistani troops on April 30 heavily shelled forward Defence locations (FDL) and civilian areas injuring one person in Jangard sub-sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Pakistan troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling and small arms firing in FDLs and civilians areas in Jangard, the sources told reporters.

As many as 97 mortar bombs of 81 and 125 mm range were rained over the area between 03:00 hours to 11:00 hours of April 30, damaging a house and injuring an old man, the sources said.

Indian troops guarding the LoC also replied to the shelling and exchanges were still on when reports last came from the area, they added.
