Rallyists gun down BJP leader; violence in Bihar

Patna: Hours after April 29 killing in the state capital of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Ranvir
Yadav, who had come to take part in the 'lathi rally', a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader
Satyanarayan Sinha was gunned down on April 30 by RJD rallyists in a fierce gun battle at a village in
Patna district, according to police sources.
Sinha's killing at Jamaluddin Chak village in Khagaul subdivision of Patna district, triggered violence and
arson by his supporters as the police intervened and opened fire.
A group of RJD activists led by local panchayat mukhia Reet Lal Yadav shot at Sinha who was killed on
the spot while his supporters returned fire.
Sinha, who had contested the last by-election from Danapur against RJD candidate Ramanand Yadav,
had a running feud with Reet Lal Yadav.
