Jail superintendent shot dead in Bihar

Bhabua (Bihar): Superintendent of Bhabua sub-jail Ram Parishan Ram was shot dead at his residence within the jail premises in Kaimur district on May 2 morning, police said.

Three assailants, riding on two motorcycles, fired at the jail official while he was sitting in his house, killing him on the spot.

The reason behind the killing of the 55-year-old jail superintendent was not yet known, they said.

Police were conducting raids to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, in Patna, inspector general of prisons Ravi Kant said security in the Bhabua jail has been tightened in the wake of killing of the jail superintendent.
