Jammu: Security forces on May 2 shot dead two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in an encounter in Surankote area of Poonch district, police said.

Security forces, on a tip off, launched an operation in general area of Manaur-Wali Marra in Surankote tehsil and in the subsequent encounter shot dead the two ultras, the spokesman said, adding one of them had been identified as Abu Mafooz, resident of Pakistan.

Recoveries from the site of encounter included an AK-56 rifle with its three magazines, two grenades and a radio set, he said.

Search operations were on in the area to nab the associates of the slain ultras.
