PM's initiative: Sayeed hopeful of good outcome
Friday, May 2 2003 20:47 Hrs (IST)
Ajmer: Supporting Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's initiative for dialogue with Pakistan, Jammu and
Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on May 2 said he was "hopeful of a good outcome".
"It was Prime Minister's bold initiative during his recent visit to Kashmir and if this process makes
headway I am hopeful of a good outcome," Sayeed said.
He was in Ajmer to offer prayers at the famous dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Referring to his "healing touch" policy, Sayeed claimed that it had started paying dividends and "That is
why 40 to 50 thousand Kashmiris assembled to hear Vajpayee's speech ignoring the boycott call given
by militant organisations."
Earlier, Sayeed offered prayers at the dargah along with his family.
