Udupi mutt to hold 'yagya' to ward off SARS menace

Udupi: The Sri Krishna mutt of Udupi is conducting a 15-day "Jyothistyoma Somayaga" from May 2, to ward off the menace of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), Sri Vidyadeesha Tirtha swamiji of the mutt, said.

The ritual is being conducted for the welfare and prosperity of the country, Swamiji told reporters.

About 36 priests will take part in the ritual, he said.
