2 gunned down in Bihar; RJD leader wounded

Patna: Two persons were killed and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Ramanand Prasad Rai and his
security guard were injured when unidentified assailants sprayed bullets on his car at Punaichak on May
2, police said.
The incident took place near Rai's residence where the car-borne desperadoes overtook his vehicle
and opened fire from AK-47 rifles, DIG (Provisions) and spokesman for Bihar police Rituraj said.
Rai's cousin Anil Kumar and his driver Manager Prasad died on the spot. The RJD leader and his police
security guard Upendra Prasad who were rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital following bullet
injuries where were out of danger.
Rai is a contractor and police suspect rivalry over contracts as the reason behind the shoot out.
Later, Rai said at the hospital that the dreaded Pandav gang had masterminded the attack on him.
Raids are on to apprehend the assailants, Rituraj said.
